NEW YORK (PRWEB) February 14, 2023
NFP, a leading property and casualty broker, benefits consultant, wealth manager and retirement advisor, today announced it has earned a 5-Star Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Award from Insurance Business magazine. With a score of 4.62 out of 5.0, NFP is one of only 17 insurance companies/brokers to receive this distinction.
“This award from Insurance Business reflects how our employees have embraced diversity, equity and inclusion as a business imperative,” said Doug Hammond, chairman and CEO of NFP. “With aligned values, focused action and an outstanding team collaborating closely together, we will continue to elevate our culture of belonging.”
Launched in 2022, the DEI Awards recognize and celebrate companies in the insurance industry that demonstrate effective DEI programs to help foster change and promote a culture where individuals of all backgrounds and levels within the organization feel supported.
“I’m incredibly proud of this recognition. It validates our progress in creating DEIB systems and cultures that empower all NFP stakeholders to be successful and motivates us to go even further,” said Pamela Wheeler, chief diversity and inclusion officer of NFP. “When it comes to advancing diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging, we are never done, and engagement throughout our company ensures we’re always moving forward.”
To determine the insurance companies with the most effective DEI programs, the Insurance Business America research team invited firms to share DEI initiatives they have focused on over the past year. The team then conducted one-on-one interviews with DEI professionals to gain a keen understanding of the industry standards for DEI and determine which companies met or exceeded these expectations. After receiving nominations for DEI initiatives, the team queried the companies’ employees to gauge the effectiveness of these programs. Companies had to receive a score of 4.5 or greater to receive the 5-Star Award.
“Advancing DEI and our culture of belonging is essential to our efforts to be an employer of choice for insurance professionals,” said Mary Steed, chief people officer of NFP. “We will continue listening, learning, and refining our programs and resources to enhance our ability to attract and retain talented leaders who share our values.”
