Natural Gourmet Institute Partners with FamilyCook Productions to Enhance Culinary Training for Community Programing
New York, NY (PRWEB) February 04, 2014 -- Natural Gourmet Institute (NGI), the leading provider of health-supportive culinary education will provide a professional teaching kitchen and chef-instructors to enhance FamilyCook Productions certification trainings for its licensed nutrition education programs.
The partnership is a natural fit. Demand for FamilyCook Productions’ educational programing has grown substantially over the last few years as has the need for a professional teaching kitchen and community educations’ training in the culinary skills to cook with fresh, wholesome ingredients. “It is the perfect convergence of NGI’s professional infrastructure and health-focused mission with our desire to enhance the professionalism of our programs’ culinary certification trainings,” notes FamilyCook Productions founder and president, author Lynn Fredericks.
In the fall of 2013, Natural Gourmet Institute and FamilyCook Productions launched a five-week internship program for youths that includes hands-on experience in a variety of health-supportive cuisines. “This new partnership takes our collaboration to the next level,” says Natural Gourmet Institute CEO, Anthony Fassio “by training FamilyCook instructors and providing a professional setting and mentorship we are able to support their incredible work with youth and further our commitment to strengthening advocacy efforts around cooking with healthy, sustainable food.”
February 1st kicked off the first collaborative training, blending NGI’s chef-instructors’ culinary knowledge and techniques with discipline, practical tips and tricks. These professional skills will be a valuable addition to the research-based approach to nutrition education through cooking that has put FamilyCook on the map and in the communities in over 30 cities across 20 states and 125-plus programs to date.
