The struggle he has in a foreign land became an odyssey, prompting him to have those mixture of feelings expressed through the beauty of poetry

Author Noelio Flores Pérez reveals his publication, “Winter Songs.” This book is a selection of poems born in special circumstances during the winter of 2013. Being away from the homeland, family and friends produce in him an indescribable pain and an overwhelming sense of isolation, frustration and desperation.
These elements produced the need of having those feelings expressed and he found them transformed into poetry written in simple verses as a way to eloquently communicate the wonder and magnificence of winter, and the brimming emotions when one feels yearning and love deeply. The struggle he has in a foreign land became an odyssey, prompting him to have those mixture of feelings expressed through the beauty of poetry.
“Winter Songs” encompasses a broad range of subjects and feelings marked for the love of a distant homeland, family and friends, to the worries of modern man in the twenty first century, belief for social justice, immigration, global warming and climate change, the range of emotions from pain and sorrows to joy and hopes, and the exploration of passion, desire, dreams to be fulfilled and the willingness to see and share a better world.
An evocative and engaging read, this collection of poems is the fruit of Flores’ hard work and the living expression of his emotions.
