MUNICH, Germany, Nov. 22, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Nomor Research, a leading company providing 4G and 5G related simulation and consultancy services, today announces that it successfully completed the calibration of its 5G System Level Simulator RealNeS against key players in mobile communication industry.
The implementation of Nomor Research's 5G Real-time Network Simulator RealNeS is based on the latest Rel.15 NR specification as approved by 3GPP RAN plenary. The simulator calibration for different simulation environments is the starting point for a comprehensive evaluation of 5G proposals submitted to the ITU for IMT-2020 from the European side under the umbrella of the 5G Infrastructure Association (5G-IA) consortium.
Our first results are published in a white paper that you find enclosed. We concluded that our results match very well with the 3GPP results. In the next step, we will perform the actual performance evaluation following the methodology of the ITU-R Evaluation Guidelines for IMT-2020.
Prof. Dr. Ingo Viering, CEO of Nomor Research GmbH stated "Nomor Research is proud that we have been selected as trusted partner for independent 5G system level simulations in Europe. We would like to thank the 5G Infrastructure Association for their commitment and all partners in our ongoing funded projects 5G-XCast and 5G-MoNArch in supporting this major simulator effort."
The 5G-IA, representing—as an association of European information and communication technology companies—the private part of the 5G Public Private Partnership (5G-PPP, a sub-program of Horizon 2020 on 5G in collaboration with the European Commission), has formed an independent evaluation group (IEG) that registered with the ITU to evaluate 3GPP's proposal based on the IMT-2020 evaluation guidelines. This evaluation group mainly includes members of the EU funded phase-2 projects 5G-XCast, 5G-MoNArch, One5G and 5G-Essence. Nomor Research is part of it and responsible for many of the system-level simulations, specifically those related to enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB).
