Aplos Software to host complimentary accounting webinars for nonprofits

To help nonprofits prepare for the New Year, Aplos Software will share a series of live webinars. The complimentary webinars will walk nonprofits through the basics of nonprofit accounting and provide tips on how to close their accounting for a new fiscal year.

Aplos Software, a company that specializes in online, nonprofit accounting software, announced today that it will host four complimentary accounting webinars for nonprofits. The webinars are hosted by Alex Acree, head of customer support for Aplos, and include year-end accounting procedures and fundamentals of nonprofit accounting. Webinar registration is currently available through the Aplos website and is open to the general public.

“There are vital steps that every nonprofit bookkeeper needs to take at the end of the year, but they may not realize it,” said Tim Goetz, CEO of Aplos. “We provide educational webinars like these to help small nonprofits stay financially healthy and start their fiscal year on a strong foundation.”

The hour-long “Year-End Closing Tips” webinar will instruct nonprofit bookkeepers about key year-end accounting issues and methods for closing the books, such as:
     •     Year-end accounting procedures for accurate fund accounting
     •     Common tasks unique to churches and nonprofits
     •     Tips on how to start accounting for your new year
     •     Essentials for a smooth switch to a new nonprofit accounting software at the start of a new year

Participants can select from two available dates: Thursday, December 11 at 10 a.m. PST and Tuesday December 30 at 2 p.m. PST.

In addition, Aplos will also host the one-hour webinar “Nonprofit Accounting Basics” webinar, which will help participants:
     •     Understand the foundational principles of accounting
     •     Review how fund accounting works and why it is needed for nonprofits
     •     Learn best practices for creating your nonprofit’s chart of accounts
     •     Feel comfortable in managing the books in any accounting software

The Nonprofit Accounting Basics webinar will be held on Tuesday, December 16 at 10 a.m. PST and Tuesday, January 20 at 10 a.m. PST.
