Systems and management in companies large and small are struggling to keep up with Big Data—however this is defined for each situation—in order to remain competitive in today’s increasingly complex economy. In Big Data computer environments, the number of transactions/node that is processed by computer systems today is important. More than 80% of the world’s data is unstructured -- such items as photos, videos or social media updates -- and can’t easily be handled by standard SQL-type systems.
