NoSQL DBs handle higher volume, variability, variety & velocity. Today we need polymorphic DBs that allow efficient distinctly different storage for structured (business) data & unstructured (content) data, says Norman Kutemperor, CTO, Scientel

A Forbes Magazine article states in their Entrepreneur Section that of the 7 Billion people in the world, and as of the end of 2014, it was estimated that 3 Billion of them are Internet users. Each Internet user is creating digital data points that can be highly valuable to businesses. But this data is meaningless unless (1) it is stored in a reliable and accessible way, and (2) it can be searched and used in practical ways.
Winning at data management means extracting the most use and value from the information available. Data analytics is not a particularly new concept. This kind of analysis is a rather superficial use of data, and while it is valuable, some companies are creating and employing technologies to extract much greater value from our everyday use of data.
SQL (Structured Query Language) was created for the purpose of managing data. And according to Norman Kutemperor, CEO of Scientel, a big data solutions company, SQL “is the Cadillac of data management, but it can’t pull a load.” Kutemperor is the “Father of NoSQL” data management, a data system that pre-dates SQL and has resurged in popularity as a result of the huge storage needs of large Internet companies such as Facebook, Google, Amazon and others. According to Kutemperor, “NoSQL data management can handle higher volume, variability, variety, and velocity. Today, we need databases that are polymorphic, a trait that allows efficient, economic and distinctly different storage for both structured (business) data and unstructured (content) data. SQL databases are not designed to accommodate the complex treatment of data needed in the 21st Century.”
Information is power, and being able to use the information effectively and efficiently will give businesses a competitive advantage in the future. Scientel’s My little Big Data™ system serves as an ideal example of a NoSQL DB application for content management which utilizes the multi-modeling capabilities of its Gensonix NoSQL DB.
About Scientel Information Technology, Inc.
Scientel Information Technology, Inc. is a U.S.-based, international, systems technology company, operational since 1977. Scientel also designs/produces highly optimized high end servers, which can be bundled with its "GENSONIX® ENTERPRISE" DBMS software, as a single-source supplier of complete systems for Big Data environments. Scientel also customizes hardware and software for specific applications resulting in higher performance.
Scientel's specialty is advanced NoSQL DBMS design and applications/systems integration for advanced business processes. This includes applications for Big Data, commercial intranets, Supply Chain management, IT consulting, support, etc., along with “beyond mainframe-level” Large Data Warehouse Appliance hardware/systems.
GENSONIX® allows very user-friendly data manipulation capabilities found in standard, SQL-based, database management systems, but it goes beyond. It is truly an "ALL-in-One SQL" -- an “All Data Management System” in the form of an ultra-flexible, NoSQL DBMS of perfectly general capabilities and application potentials. It can also function in concert with mainline SQL systems to efficiently handle both structured and unstructured data as a large data warehouse repository. However, it can handle heavy database loads by itself with the aid of the GENSONIX® NSQL©™ query/procedural language. GENSONIX® supports both telnet as well as http interfaces. GENSONIX® is capable of handling trillions of rows/transactions for billions of customers, which is a huge advantage in “truly Big Data” structured applications.
Business customers can take advantage of Scientel’s capabilities in advanced Business Intelligence and Data Analytics to grow their business by handling Big Data more cost-effectively and with greater insights to remain competitive. Scientific, government, and similar organizations can use these capabilities to efficiently process Big Data, instead of being swamped by it. And, Scientel’s Enterprise Content Management & Search solutions can vastly simplify storage, access, and management of any kind of digitized data for any size organization.
