SAN FRANCISCO, May 28, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Novogradac, a national accounting and consulting firm, welcomes Bob Chervenak, Reza Karim, Matt Kelley and Megan Murphy–four newcomers who provide additional expertise to an organization that specializes in affordable housing, community development, historic preservation and renewable energy.
Each of the new members assume the role of principal in the company.
"Bob, Reza, Matt and Megan are tremendous additions to our team and help us continue to serve our clients in the best way possible," said Michael J. Novogradac, CPA, the managing partner. "Our goal is to help clients reach their goals and each of our new principals bring unique skills and passion to our company. We're thrilled that they're part of Novogradac."
Chervenak joins the Novogradac office in Naples, Fla., with significant experience in affordable housing, where he has worked with developers and syndicators. He has extensive corporate and partnership tax experience and worked many low-income housing tax credit transactions, from the planning stage to the submission of the final cost certification. Chervenak has experience leading his own firm as well as working at other prominent firms.
Karim, who has more than 15 years of technical and leadership experience, works out of Novogradac's New York City office, where he focuses on individual and partnership tax compliance and consulting in incentives such as opportunity zones, new markets tax credits, state and local taxes, and international tax matters. Karim previously worked with PricewaterhouseCoopers in the Tokyo; San Jose, Calif.; and New York metropolitan areas. In addition to tax compliance, Karim led a global team that provided coordinated consulting services to U.S. and foreign multinational clients on various areas of cross border taxation.
Kelley, who has expertise in the opportunity zones incentive and other state tax credits and incentives, most recently worked in Boston for Ernst & Young. In his 12 years of client service, Kelley has worked on various tax matters, including state and local taxes, international and domestic discretionary business incentives, federal and state tax credits, and advising clients regarding complex new tax rules. In addition to his client service, Kelley has been a prominent speaker at professional conferences–including a presentation on the impact of tax regulations on innovation at a G20 Summit. He works out of Novogradac's office in Andover, Mass.
Murphy brings 12 years of tax and legal experience, having most recently worked with The Vanguard Group as a corporate and fund tax attorney. She also has worked with PricewaterhouseCoopers and with Ernst & Young as a tax advisor, focusing on federal corporate and international tax, while providing tax due diligence services and tax advice related to multinational mergers, acquisitions and integrations.
