Neptune Benson’s ETS-UV Selected for NWRI Project in Southern California
Coventry, RI (PRWEB) October 29, 2015 -- Neptune Benson is an industry leader in water filtration and disinfection in the municipal, industrial and recreational water markets. Its ETS-UV brand is well established as a leading UV manufacturer.
The Hollywood Casino project is Design/Build and as Ryan McCloskey, President of Gierlich-Mitchell Inc. states, several factors led to ETS-UV by Neptune Benson being selected.
“The quality of references from ETS-UV installations is quite impressive. We reviewed other closed vessel NWRI (2012) approved system suppliers and have determined that a number of design features of the ETS system provide real operational advantages. For example, the access hatch makes it easier for routine maintenance of the chamber without the removal of the end flanges and the effluent chamfer provides the lowest head-loss. By using 800 watt lamp technology, the system requires fewer lamps than other designs we examined. These are significant advances over some of the older system designs. ”
The ETS-UV system is validated to the NWRI UV Guidelines for 2003 and the 2012 revision, following extended testing at a wastewater facility in California by Carollo Engineers. Each reactor has been approved by the California State Water Resources Control Board, Division of Drinking Water and are now being incorporated in water reclamation facilities across the country.
Commenting on the award, Ken Rodi, CEO of Neptune Benson added “The unprecedented pressure on water in many parts of the world is making us view wastewater as a valuable resource to be reclaimed and reused, rather than a waste product to be disposed of. UV disinfection is an elegant, non-intrusive barrier and increasingly is a standard feature of an advanced water treatment process.”
