The New York Society of Security Analysts, Inc. (NYSSA), leading forum for the investment community since 1937, announced its new board following the Annual Meeting to elect directors and officers on September 17, 2013. The board has a new chairman, vice chairman, and secretary as well as three new directors.
NYSSA also expresses its thanks for years of dedicated service to the Society to two departing board members: Stephen J. Balog and Victor Ugolyn.
NYSSA’s new Board of Directors is:
Chairman: Mark Ukrainskyj, CFA
Ukrainskyj is a senior portfolio manager and principal at Covenant Asset Management in Chester, NJ. Formerly he served as vice chair of the board.
Vice Chairman: Karen Sterling, PhD, CFA
Sterling is the managing director of healthcare investment banking at Avalon Group. Her previous role on the board was secretary.
Secretary: Daniel Dagen, CFA
Dagen is a wealth management advisor with MassMutual Financial Group. He previously served on the board as a director.
Dr. Edward I. Altman, PhD
Dr. Altman is the Max L. Heine Professor of Finance at the Stern School of Business, New York University. This is his first time on the board.
Karen E. Boroff, PhD
Boroff, professor and dean emeritus, was dean of Seton Hall University’s Stillman School of Business from 2000 to 2010.
Andreas Dal Santo, CFA
Dal Santo is an independent consultant based in New York City with more than 13 years of experience in asset management. This is his first time on the board.
Richard G. Lipstein
Lipstein is managing director of Gilbert Tweed and has considerable corporate and Wall Street experience as an executive search consultant.
Andrew J. Melnick, CFA
Melnick is managing partner and head of risk management for SkyView Investment Advisors, LLC.
Nanci D. Morris, CFA
Morris is managing director of New England Retirement Group and president of NDM Management, LLC.
Kathy O’Connor, CFA
O’Connor is president of KJ Capital Management LLC, an asset management firm. She is stepping down as chairman of the NYSSA board.
Guy Rutherfurd, CFA
Rutherfurd is currently founding principal and portfolio manager at FVCM, a SEC-registered investment advisor.
Anand Shahi, CFP
Shahi recently joined the Leveraged Commentary and Data group at S&P Capital IQ. Formerly he was chair of the Membership Committee at NYSSA. This is his first time on the board.
Alex Urdea, CFA, FRM, CMT
Urdea joined Solus at its inception in 2007 and has been managing risk for the hedge fund portfolios since he joined Stanfield Capital Partners LLC in 2004.
