Olimpio Guidi Shares Life Experience as an Immigrant in the United States in Autobiography

GOSHEN, Ind., July 29, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Olimpio Guidi and his family immigrated to the United States when he was 11 years old. In his autobiography "My Life Story of a Grateful immigrant who lived the American Dream" (published by Archway Publishing), Guidi shares his experience once coming to the USA and serving in the military.
Guidi was born in the Republic of San Marino shortly before WWII. He and his family managed to stay relatively safe during the war by taking refuge in train tunnels to escape the conflict and bombing raids. They immigrated to the United States when he was 11, he learned the language and then short after joined the U.S. Navy at age 18. He served in the Navy for nearly 10 years before serving 38 years as a U.S. civil servant.
Guidi hopes his readers will appreciate his struggles and success in spite of the many obstacles he faced. He wants his readers to have an "appreciation for the opportunities available to U.S. residents and citizens."

About the Author
Olimpio Guidi immigrated to Detroit, Michigan, at age 11. He joined the U.S. Navy at age 18. In the Navy he was a hospital corpsman (medic). Guidi took an honorable discharge and joined the U.S. civil service for 38 years ending with 14 years at the U.S. Embassy in Rome, Italy, as the Department of Defense liaison officer to the Italian government.
