The event, titled “The Uptown Food Movement,” will take place on December 10th at the Washington Heights restaurant in NYC, reports the article. The six chefs include Ruby Duke of the upstate farm Raven & Boar, James Moran of The Rusty Mackerel in Hudson Heights, and others. They will be speaking on the importance of organic food, markets and farm-to-table practices.
The Insurgo Project, which was created to educate the community on the importance of organic food, organized the event. Spokeswoman Carolina Audrey was quoted in the article saying, “We wanted to do something that showcases what's happening in upper Manhattan, and why it's important. So, we've got a really great mix of chefs, and it's going to be a great discussion.”
