Organic olive oil producer Bellucci Premium responds to an article discussing a study that found an increase in the percentage of teens that choose to eat organic foods.
In an article published by The Packer on December 26th titled “Study: teens buying more organic,”a consumer research project conducted by Piper Jaffray & Co. found that 39% of teens ate organic food, a 6% increase from two years ago. 35% of teens in the study said they “were eating more organic food than a year ago.”
Interestingly, the study found that Millennials, or people born during the 1980s-2000s, are more likely to buy organic than Baby Boomers. A 2012 study by Jefferies and Alix Partners said, “58% of Millennials surveyed said they were willing to pay more for natural/organic products. That compares with only 43% of Baby Boomers who said they were willing to pay more for natural organic products.” The ongoing trend is likely to affect retailers and the food market due to a rise in the “demand for natural and organic grocery, as teens age into young adults and establish independent households.”
Natalie Sexenian, marketing manager for Bellucci Premium, a high-quality organic olive oil producer, says, “The organic lifestyle is becoming more and more popular because people are becoming more health conscious. We are also learning more about the harms of pesticides and hormones, such as their role in obesity and cancer. Health information has become increasingly accessible due to the Internet, and we as a society have begun to question more because of it.” She says, “Going organic is a terrific way to improve your overall health.”
Bellucci offers three different types of oil, including an organic option, with a mild peppery flavor and fruity undertones that will satisfy any palate. Bellucci Premium Toscano extra virgin olive oil uses olives that are grown on the beautiful landscapes of Tuscany, and maintained by 3rd and 4th generation farmers. The third type of oil Bellucci produces is the finest 100% Italian extra virgin olive oil, grown in many different regions of Italy.
