Bohemia, NY (PRWEB) February 04, 2014 -- Italian olive oil producer Bellucci Premium comments on a photography contest from Olimerca that asks the public to capture photographs that express the essence of the olive tree in exchange for a cash prize.
In an article published by Olive Oil Times on January 20th titled “Olimerca Launches First International Photography Competition,” Olimerca, a leading Spanish olive oil publication, invites the public to participate in the first annual “Aristeo” International Photography Competition. Olimerca asks the public to translate the slogan “The olive tree, source of health and wealth” into a photograph. The image can be related to the olive tree, olive oil, or table olives. The grand prize is €1,000 and there are three smaller prizes of €300 (a total of $2,575 in prizes) for the best landscape photo, the most creative photo, and the best photo related to the industry.
The contest is open to anyone over 18 years old and participants may enter up to three photos by February 28 by email, olimerca(at)olimerca(dot)com, or mail (to C/Carpinteros, 7- 1ª planta, 28906 Getafe, Madrid, Spain). Photos must be 800 x 600px in size, have a minimum resolution of 300px, and include a title (11 word maximum) and a description (100 word maximum).
All entries will be displayed in an Instagram gallery. A prize ceremony will take place in the Geolit scientific park in Jaén on April 24 during a wider conference organized by Olimerca.
The marketing manager for Italian olive oil producer Bellucci Premium, Natalie Sexenian, says, “This contest organized by Olimerca is a terrific way to engage the public and increase mass interest in the olive oil trade. It also allows the public to become enchanted with the majestic olive tree and its fruit.” She says, “By allowing all entries to be posted onto Instagram, Olimerca is attempting to foster interest in a younger community.”
Bellucci offers three different types of oil, including an organic option, with a mild peppery flavor and fruity undertones that will satisfy any palate. Bellucci Premium Toscano extra virgin olive oil uses olives that are grown on the beautiful landscapes of Tuscany, and maintained by 3rd and 4th generation farmers. The third type of oil Bellucci produces is the finest 100% Italian extra virgin olive oil, grown in many different regions of Italy.
