Olympic Gold Medalist Teams Up with Cool Kids Foundation to Help Children with Cancer in Charlotte, N.C.
Olympic Champion Dan Jansen is teaming up with Cool Kids Foundation to open a Clubhouse in the Charlotte, NC area for children with cancer. With a planned opening in late summer 2019, the Clubhouse will be named the "Cool Kids Clubhouse In Honor of Dan Jansen." The Clubhouse will provide social activities, programs, events and more at no expense to the families battling cancer.
CHARLOTTE, N.C., April 27, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- As Dan Jansen celebrates his 25th anniversary of winning Gold at the 1994 Winter Olympic Games, he is pleased to announce that he has turned his Olympic glory into another form of gold by teaming up with the Cool Kids Foundation.
The Cool Kids Foundation, which is registered as a nonprofit in North Carolina, currently has a successful clubhouse located in the Baltimore, MD area. Its mission is to improve the quality of life for children living with cancer through its academic, emotional, and social support at no expense to the families. Mr. Jansen currently serves on the board of directors and has been involved with Chris Federico, Founder and President of Cool Kids, for six years. Their goal is to bring a clubhouse to the Charlotte, NC area by late summer 2019.
The new clubhouse will be named the "Cool Kids Clubhouse In Honor of Dan Jansen." It will provide many social activities, programs and events for families such as free tutoring, movie nights, holiday parties, smile celebration (celebrate birthday or end of chemo treatment), and many other activities.
Mr. Jansen's foundation, The DJ Foundation, has supported kids with cancer and their families for 20 years. More than 800 families have received financial support. By teaming up with Cool Kids, their common vision is to open up a Cool Kids Clubhouse to provide additional resources for kids with cancer in the greater Charlotte, NC region.
The Cool Kids Foundation also has a care condo in Charlotte and a vacation condo in Myrtle Beach at no expense to the families.
