Open Infrastructure Summit Goes Virtual, Showcases Diverse Use Cases for More than 30 Open Source Projects
Following a series of successful virtual OpenDev events in July, the OpenStack Foundation will host the fall 2020 Open Infrastructure Summit virtually.
AUSTIN, Texas, Aug. 3, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The OpenStack Foundation will host the fall 2020 Open Infrastructure Summit and Project Teams Gathering (PTG) virtually. The Summit will take place October 19-23 and is structured around relevant use cases, training, and complementary open source projects from the ever-growing community of users, developers and vendors across the globe who are building and operating open infrastructure. Dates for the PTG will be published soon.

The virtual format offers participants the same high-level keynote presentations, panels and workshops featured at past events. The October Summit will include hundreds of sessions and workshops on topics including:

- CI/CD
- edge computing and 5G
- public cloud

In addition, members of more than 30 open source communities, including Airship, Ansible, Ceph, Docker, Kata Containers, Kubernetes, ONAP, OpenStack, Open vSwitch, OPNFV, StarlingX and Zuul, will discuss new updates on the progress of each project.

For those interested in participating as a speaker at the Open Infrastructure Summit, the call for presentations is currently open. The deadline for submissions is August 4 at 11:59pm PDT. Members of the global open infrastructure community are invited and encouraged to submit proposals to share open source use cases on the following topic areas:

- public/private/hybrid clouds
