“By bringing the industry together at ONS2015, we will share customer experiences and address challenges that enterprises are currently facing to help accelerate SDN deployment and innovation.” said Ram Appalaraju, Executive Advisor to ONS2015.

Open Networking Summits, Inc., (ONS), the premier SDN and NFV conference, today announced an “SDN in Enterprises” keynote panel at ONS2015 on Thursday, June 18. With SDN in the enterprise being a hot topic in previous years, ONS is bringing together a panel of industry thought leaders for a technology-oriented discussion at ONS2015 on advancements in SDN, open networking innovation and first hand experience of evaluating and deploying SDN in enterprise networks.

Participants on the SDN and Enterprises keynote panel include executives from a range of companies from multinational corporations to government. They are: Vesko Pehlivannov, infrastructure architect, Credit Suisse; Colin Constable, technical strategist, Deutsche Bank; Pablo Espinosa, director, network architecture, Gap; Brian Larish, technical director for Enterprise Connectivity & Specialized IT Services, National Security Agency; and Richard Kaufmann, vice president of the Infrastructure group at Samsung SDS America. The panel will be moderated by Ram Appalaraju, executive advisor, ONS2015.

As companies are at various stages of deployment using different SDN technologies, key topics to be addressed on the SDN and Enterprises keynote panel include:

  • The key business and operational benefits of adopting SDN in the enterprise
  • Factors driving use cases’ prioritization in enterprises
  • Early experience on pilots and proof of SDN concepts
  • Panel members’ vision on deploying SDN over the next few years
  • Topics relating to skills, training and organization
  • Transformation to DevOps model and its impact on SDN deployments
  • Expectations from panel members on SDN tools’ availability: open source, etc.
  • Panel members’ requests and feedback for the vendor community

“Enterprises clearly realize that SDN principles address complexity in the network. With open source and other SDN offerings entering the market, customers are increasingly evaluating and deploying SDN products and technologies in the network.” said Ram Appalaraju, executive advisor to ONS2015. “By bringing the industry together at ONS2015, we will share customer experiences and address challenges that enterprises are currently facing to help accelerate SDN deployment and innovation.”
