We aim to create transformational and responsible travel experiences, and in order to do so, our team is working to enhance our core value of environmental consciousness at home and abroad.

Orbridge, a global tour operator specializing in small-group educational travel, is thrilled to announce an ongoing commitment in 2020 to the responsible care of the health of our planet with reforestation efforts on Department of Natural Resource-owned lands.

“Trees and forests play an essential role in keeping our planet healthy,” says Jim Staples, founder of Orbridge. “We aim to create transformational and responsible travel experiences, and in order to do so, our team is working to enhance our core value of environmental consciousness at home and abroad,” Staples adds.

In addition to planting 100,000 more trees in 2020 to jumpstart forest recovery, halt soil erosion, provide habitat, and improve air quality, Orbridge dedicates itself to recycling and using recycled materials, minimizing printing, and partnering with eco-friendly vendors. Noteworthy among future programming plans is the new expedition vessel for exploring Antarctica. One of the “greenest” in the world, it is “clean ship” certified with lower emissions and lower fuel consumption, and mandates an onboard program calling for the elimination of all single-use plastics, and usage of biodegradable cleaning products, sustainable seafood, and fair-trade, organic coffees and teas only.

By partnering with U.S. State Forests and implementing sustainability practices in its portfolio of enriching adventure itineraries, Orbridge is helping to offset the impact of emissions for the benefit of current and future generations.
