Oregon Electrical Continuing Education Available Online
Raleigh, NC (PRWEB) September 11, 2014 -- JADE Learning is offering the 2014 NEC Changes for LEA, LEB, and LME for licensees that renew October 1st, 2014. Also, renewing on October 1st, 2014, are the LRT and SIG licensees and the course available for these license groups is the 2014 NEC Changes for LRT and SIG. The Board-approved Oregon electrical continuing education courses are available online, any time, and on any device.
Both 2014 NEC courses cover the mandatory Oregon Electrical Specialty Code and statues as well as 2014 NEC changes relevant to the limited energy license types. Covered code sections include: Article 100 Definitions, Article 110, Article 411, Article 690, Article 694, Article 800, and new Articles 393, 646, 728, and 750.
All individuals licensed as Oregon LEA, LEB, LME, LRT, or SIG, must renew their licenses by Wednesday, October 1st, 2014. For the LEA, LEB, and LME license holders, 8 hours of electrical continuing education are required for each renewal cycle. The Oregon Building Codes Division requires that all LRT and SIG license holders have 4 hours of continuing education for each renewal cycle. Two of the four hours must cover the National Electrical Code. For all of the license types, all of the continuing education hours can be taken online: Oregon Electrical Continuing Education. Courses are affordable because they each come with a free trial and payment is only required after a course is passed. An electrician can take courses as many times as needed to pass and still pay only once.
Here are the steps to renewing an Oregon Electrical (LEA, LEB, LME, LRT, or SIG) license:
Step 1. Complete all of the required Oregon electrical continuing education hours. With JADE Learning, licensees can work on the courses at any time from any computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone. Just go to JADE Learning and Register a free account or Login. The self-paced courses can be completed over the next few weeks, or all at once. JADE Learning courses have the most updated Oregon electrical continuing education content and instructor support is just a click away. After completing a course online, certificates can even be immediately emailed to a licensee's inbox.
Step 2. Wait for the hours to be reported to the Oregon Building Codes Division. JADE Learning will report continuing education hours to the state by email. Individual email notifications are sent to licensees once the hours have been reported to the Building Codes Division. The continuing education hours should post to Oregon’s site within a few days. Check the status of reported hours online at the Oregon Building Codes Division website.
Step 3. Submit the Oregon license renewal form online. The required fee to renew an active LEA, LEB, LRT, or SIG license is $50, for LME licenses the fee is $100. Make sure to renew by the October 1st, 2014, deadline to keep an active license. Check the status of electrical licenses online at the Oregon Building Codes Division website.
After an individual's license has been renewed, he or she will be able to continue working as an Oregon LEA, LEB, LME, LRT, or SIG electrician until the end of the next Oregon license renewal cycle on October 1st, 2017.
