OSHA Safety Classes Featured at the Complimentary 2016 Pacific Coast Safety Fest in California, Nevada, Arizona and Hawaii

The Pacific Coast Safety Fest is open to the public and is designed to help educate the regional workforce on vital workplace safety issues.

The OSHA Training Center at Chabot-Las Positas Community College District, the only authorized OSHA Training Institute Education Center headquartered in Northern California, is pleased to announce the 2016 Pacific Coast Safety Fest, a free occupational safety and health training event sponsored by OSHA and hosted by Region IX OSHA Training Institute Education Centers. The weeklong series of free safety classes and presentations will be held on March 14-18, 2016, at selected OSHA Training Institute Education Center locations in California, Nevada, Arizona and Hawaii.

“The Pacific Coast Safety Fest is open to the public and is designed to help educate the regional workforce on vital workplace safety issues,” said Cari Elofson, Assistant Director of the OSHA Training Center at Chabot-Las Positas Community College District. “We strongly encourage contractors, small business owners, professional technical educators, businesses required to follow OSHA standards and anyone interested in creating a safer workplace to attend.”

All OSHA classes and presentations are offered free of charge. Space is limited, and enrollment is offered on a first come, first served basis, so those interested in attending are encouraged to register at the Pacific Coast Safety Fest 2016 website. Conference topics will include hazard recognition, accident investigation, job hazard analysis/job planning, whistleblower regulations and a variety of other general safety courses. Registration is required, and no walk-ins will be allowed.

The OSHA Training Center at Chabot-Las Positas Community College District is offering a variety of free classes, including OSHA 10-Hour Outreach Training for Construction, Heat Illness Prevention and Introduction to Safety and Health Management, at the following locations:

The sponsors of the Pacific Coast Safety Fest are offering all training for this event at no charge in order to provide equal opportunity for all to participate, and all instructors are volunteering their time. Attendees will receive credit for all sanctioned OSHA Training Institute Education Center classes and will receive a certificate of attendance for all classes.
