Wanting to heal her soul and tell her story to the world, Otgo Waller wrote “Twisted Tales: My Life as a Mongolian Contortionist” (published by Balboa Press) to share her experience growing up in Mongolia and her journey to become a professional contortionist.

“Mongolians are known to be the best contortionists in the world,” Waller says. “There is a history and a culture. The story of a Mongolian contortionist has never been told before. Explore the beautiful Mongolian culture of contortion admist the pressures of socialism. These stories are true life experiences from a Mongolian Contortionist.”

The book opens in Waller’s homeland of Mongolia, and takes the reader around the world on her travels, which eventually lead to America. Waller details her struggle for survival growing up in a socialist country and her passion for contortion. At a young age she began traveling and performing, although she was faced with of war, poverty and abuse, she was able to accomplish her dreams and become the person she is today.

About the Author
Otgontsetseg “Otgo” Waller was born and raised in Ulaanbaatar, the Mongolian capital city. She now lives in Nevada with her husband Andrew and their 12-year-old daughter Emily. She has been a professional contortionist for 30 years, having won international recognition and awards, and she just recently opened her own business, Flexible Body Art, where she trains people in the art of contortion as well as flexibility and choreography. Her hobbies include meditation, reading poetry, swimming, traveling, and visiting old museums and temples. “Twisted Tales” is Waller’s first book.
