Otrivine® Offers a Helping Hand in New Digital Campaign
(PRWEB UK) 20 February 2014 -- With the cough and cold season in full swing, Otrivine® is launching an innovative and first of its kind digital and social campaign to target consumers who are sharing their sniffly frustrations online and engage with them at the time of need.
The campaign, which launches in mid February 2014, taps into the growing number of people who turn to Twitter to express their irritations or ask for sympathy when feeling unwell with a cold. At this point, Otrivine® will engage with a small piece of respite to make them smile, in the form of an empathetic and humorous piece of shareable video content.
Directed by and produced by Starcom MediaVest, the four 10-20 second vignettes take a comedic look at nasal congestion which often accompanies a cold and capture a person attempting to communicate something perfectly innocent, but finding that it amusingly manifests itself otherwise.
A campaign Twitter handle @OtrivineUK will enable proactive and personalised reactive engagement with consumers and influencers, using the campaign hashtag #SnotWhatISaid will encourage consumers to share and cheer up their friends who are feeling unwell.
Otrivine® will be using a combination of real time monitoring and targeted Twitter advertising to speak directly to consumers exactly at their moment of need, while PR will gain awareness and encourage use of the campaign hashtag.

Otrivine® is a highly effective nasal decongestant that helps to clear a blocked nose within minutes and provides relief for up to 10 hours. Available in two topically applied formats, spray or drops, it works to provide relief from nasal congestion caused by colds, hay fever and sinusitis.
The active ingredient in all medicated Otrivine® products is xylometazoline hydrochloride. This causes the blood vessels in the nose to contract and return to their normal size, helping to open up and clear the nasal passages.
Otrivine® drops and sprays work at the site of the problem as they’re applied directly to the inflamed nasal tissue. This means the active ingredient can start to work right away helping provide relief within minutes, unlike oral decongestant tablets, which have to be absorbed into the blood stream before they can start to work.
Otrivine® contains xylometazoline hydrochloride. Always read the label.
