OurHealth Adds Experienced Market Leader to Accelerate Growth in the Southeast
John Leary brings 30 years of healthcare experience, passion for primary care
CHARLOTTE, N.C., April 25, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- OurHealth, the nation's leading provider of near-site primary care clinics, today announces the hire of John Leary as Vice President for the Southeast Region.
Leary joins following an unprecedented year of growth for the healthcare company and is charged with adding to the momentum of establishing OurHealth as the No. 1 employer-sponsored clinic provider in the Carolinas. He brings more than 30 years of healthcare experience, including health systems and plan design, corporate health and wellness, digital wellness and disease management solutions.
"Charlotte is the tenth most expensive market in the U.S. for medical care, and employers here are paying far too much," said Leary. "I strongly believe in the power of primary care and the impact it can have on an individual's life when it is accessible and proactive in addressing preventable health issues. I've experienced many models for tackling this problem, and no one does it as effectively as OurHealth. I can't wait to bring our solution to even more employers."
OurHealth entered the Charlotte market with its industry-first MyClinic network in January 2016 and today has five convenient locations around the city, including Uptown, Tower Place, Northlake, Wilkinson Boulevard and Albemarle Crossing. The company's client roster includes marquee employers like the City of Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, Belk Department Stores and Harris Teeter.
"Demand for OurHealth has never been stronger, and we're excited to add someone of John's caliber to our team in Charlotte," said OurHealth Chief Revenue Officer Chad Ashcraft. "Local leadership and community investment are core to our company values and growth plans, and I'm confident John will be a great asset in Charlotte and future markets throughout the southeast."
Employers are attracted to OurHealth's model for three key reasons — improved access to care for their employees, independence from any hospital system or network allowing for unbiased referrals and robust reporting capabilities that allow business owners to easily understand their return on investment.
OurHealth is on a mission to save employers $1 billion in healthcare costs, and to date has saved its clients more than $160 million. The company takes a patient-focused approach to care, including waiting room times of less than five minutes, appointments that average 20 to 40 minutes and a patient satisfaction score of 98 percent.
In 2018, OurHealth patients lost a combined 40,000 pounds and 32,000 points of LDL ("bad") cholesterol. OurHealth clients enjoy an average savings of 17 percent on health plan costs through better management of chronic conditions, ER avoidance and reduced lab and drug costs. OurHealth clients include a wide range of employers of all sizes and industries, including the State of Indiana, City of Indianapolis, Anthem, CNO Financial and First Financial Bank.
