Arizona State University Offering Memberships to the Entrepreneurship Outreach Network to Public Libraries
Scottsdale, AZ (PRWEB) March 03, 2015 -- Arizona State University’s Office of Entrepreneurship and Innovation announced today that libraries applying to join the ASU Entrepreneurship Outreach Network now have the opportunity to apply for a complimentary annual Gold Membership. Thanks to a $249,000 grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), this benefit is reserved for 16 innovative libraries. The deadline to apply to join the ASU Entrepreneurship Outreach Network is March 13, 2015, with rolling deadlines every two weeks after that.
Formerly named the Alexandria Innovation Network, the newly re-launched Entrepreneurship Outreach Network is a membership-based network of libraries that provide ASU-sponsored educational programming for local entrepreneurs and small business owners. Among other benefits, members of the Entrepreneurship Outreach Network gain access to ASU Startup School, a proven curriculum for developing startup ventures.
“ASU is committed to finding new ways to increase access to education. Because the risks and costs associated with launching a new business are high, it is becoming increasingly difficult for people with middle and lower incomes to launch ventures. This means that our communities miss out on good ideas,” said Mitzi Montoya, Vice President and University Dean of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at ASU. “We believe the Entrepreneurship Outreach Network is an exciting way for entrepreneurs in any community and from any background to access ASU’s entrepreneurship resources and contribute to the economic vitality of their community.”
Gold memberships to the Entrepreneurship Outreach Network, valued at $1,500, provide participating libraries with free access to ASU Startup School curriculum; four passes to the annual Entrepreneurship Outreach Network conference; and the opportunity for library staff, volunteers and economic development partners to receive certification in facilitating ASU Startup School.
