According to the click tracking, “The Fisherman and the Syren,” was the most sought after painting clicked at nearly nine percent, and Gustav Klimt’s magnum opus “The Kiss” came in a close second, garnering eight percent of the clicks.

The The Fisherman and the Syren was painted by the English Victorian Classical painter, Lord Frederick Leighton between 1856 and 1858. The painting depicts the fatal seduction of a fisherman by a beautiful yet deadly mermaid. The fisherman seems completely transfixed in the moment while the siren clutches to his body as she subdues her prey with passion and lust to submission.
