Designed to Increase Access and Quality of Behavioral Health Services to Chicago Metropolitan Area at AMITA Health Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital

Owl Insights, Inc., the leading provider of care transformation technology for behavioral health, today announced that AMITA Health Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital has adopted the Owl platform at its flagship facility in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.

Owl Insights is focused on solving the U.S. crisis of preventable deaths and trauma due to a lack of access to effective behavioral health treatment. The Owl’s cloud-based platform screens, stratifies and monitors patient population status with data from evidence-based, patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs). The Owl data provides critical insights and advanced reporting to effectively guide treatment.

"The Owl platform empowers our clinical team to standardize the screening and intake process and the tracking of treatment services across our organization so that we can better monitor and understand the severity level of the patients that annually seek our care. Adding the Owl platform complements our mission to deliver effective and efficient care to the Chicago metropolitan area while ensuring access to care for all," said Sara Mathews, LCSW, MBA, vice president, operations, Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital at AMITA Health. "The Owl also supports our existing workflow while providing clinicians with critical data to more effectively optimize treatment.”

Eric Meier, president and chief executive officer for Owl Insights, states "AMITA Health is at the forefront of deploying evidence-based behavioral health care. The information provided by the Owl platform is designed to ensure efficient and effective care for the patients they serve. Further, the comprehensive patient data will better equip the organization in its communications with payers surrounding accurate payment for the treatment services it delivers. We are honored to play a key role in enabling AMITA Health to extend its evidence-based strategy.”

"The Owl is an essential component in our implementation of measurement-based care strategies for the individuals we serve," said Jeff Maitland, director of patient safety and quality at Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital. "We are looking forward to the positive impact it can make in helping us deliver care that changes lives across the entire AMITA Health footprint." The Owl enables AMITA clinicians to spend more quality time with patients, enhancing the patient experience, and providing clinicians with greater clinical confidence.

In its initial implementation of the Owl platform at AMITA Health, patient engagement approached virtually 100%.
