Pacific Mobile Structures Receives First Place Award of Distinction from the Modular Building Institute
Silverdale Elementary SAGE school building wins in the "Green Building" category.
CHEHALIS, Wash., April 10, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Pacific Mobile Structures, Inc. received first place in the "Green Building" category at the Modular Building Institute's 37th Annual World of Modular convention held this past March in Orlando, Florida.
Pacific Mobile Structures earned the recognition for their cost-effective, sustainably designed expansion and renovation of the Silverdale Elementary SAGE school building in the Central Kitsap school district in Washington. In order to accommodate the community's rapidly growing student enrollment, Pacific Mobile Structures—in partnership with Portland State University and Blazer Industries, Inc.—used innovative and cost-effective techniques that delivered all the health and environmental benefits of affordable green construction to provide students with a high-quality, healthy learning environment.
"We are delighted to be acknowledged among the Modular Building Institute's Awards of Distinction," said Tom Coyle, senior vice president of construction & workforce housing. "With the Silverdale Elementary SAGE school being the first of its kind, we've laid the groundwork for environmental and innovation excellence to continue to build award-winning complex SAGE schools throughout the Pacific Northwest."
Entries were judged on criteria including architectural excellence, technical innovation, sustainability, and cost effectiveness by a panel of industry and non-industry construction and code experts, architects, engineers and marketing professionals. The Modular Building Institute promotes and recognizes high quality modular design and construction through innovative practices, education and outreach. modular.org
