New Partnership Brings Clinical Education to Palliative Care Clinicians and Organizations
Hyannis, MA (PRWEB) December 05, 2013 -- A new partnership is bringing the highest quality clinical palliative care education directly to professionals and organizations through online learning. This unique collaboration brings together the online learning expertise of the Hospice Education Network (HEN) and highly-rated educational programming from the 2013 Annual Assembly of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine (AAHPM) and Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association where the courses were filmed.
The first four courses available for sale feature a broad spectrum of clinical content important to palliative care professionals and organizations:
Our Double-Edged Sword: Interdisciplinary Approaches to Balancing Symptom Control with Diversion and Safety Concerns;
Palliative Care "Bucket List" Skills Learned from a Difficult Case;
Palliative Wound Care; and
Speed Dating with Pharmacists: 50 Practical Med Tips.
These courses are available to individual subscribers through AAHPM’s online education portal at http://aahpm.weatherbeenetwork.com.
Hospices, medical centers, universities and other organizations looking to subscribe to the courses with access for their staff using HEN’s unique annual subscription model can find more information at http://www.hospiceonline.com. Continuing education credits for physicians, nurses and social workers are included in the cost of the subscription.
“In recent years we’ve seen an increased need and demand for palliative care education for clinicians,” stated Heather Wilson, CEO of HEN. “Partnering with AAHPM enables us to bring national experts to our current hospice clients and reach out to individual clinicians and other organizations looking to bring these topics to their staff.”
“Through this partnership we are able to benefit from HEN’s online learning expertise to bring these outstanding sessions from the 2013 Annual Assembly to a much broader audience,” said Steve Smith, AAHPM’s Executive Director/CEO.
As the need for highly skilled palliative care professionals continues to grow, current training models may be enhanced by online education. The focus of this partnership is to help meet this growing need and ensure that the clinical content is exceptional and that it is provided in a manner that is easy to access 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
