Visiting Native and Indigenous Peoples feel right at home in this beautiful Valley, as do those who love this unique history and culture.
Palm Springs (PRWEB) March 03, 2015
Brad Schmett, Broker Associate with Luxury Homes by Keller Williams today announced that the 2015 Native FilmFest to be held at Camelot Theaters in Palm Springs is expected to bring in record crowds as one of the most highly regarded events in the field of Native American and Indigenous films.
This year's guest programmer will be Elizabeth Weatherford, Founder and Director of the Film and Video Center of the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian. On Tuesday evening, March 3, the opening night of the festival will feature Views on Native Film, a free panel discussion that will assess the impact of the Sundance Institute on the development of Native film. Distinguished panelists will include N. Bird Runningwater, (Cheyenne and Mescalero Apache) filmmaker and director of the Sundance Native Film Lab Program.
Schmett recently spoke about the effect for local real estate, “As most people already know, the Coachella Valley has been the ancestral home of the Cahuilla Indians for more than 3000 years. So, it is understandable that a film festival of this magnitude draws a substantial following from across the nation and around the world. Visiting Native and Indigenous Peoples feel right at home in this beautiful Valley, as do those who love this unique history and culture. My team and I expect to be extremely busy showing our amazing inventory of luxury homes during the days of the festival because we know that once visitors see what we have to offer they will want to own a local home of their own."
Affordably priced tickets encourage everyone to come and enjoy this wonderful festival. This is an opportunity to learn more about the current and relevant role of Native Americans in today's world. Presented by the Agua Caliente Cultural Museum, it is one of numerous outstanding events honoring Native Americans and Indigenous Peoples throughout the year thanks to the efforts of this prestigious and groundbreaking Museum.
