GUELPH, Ont., Jan. 7, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Danby Appliances, a 70-year-old Canadian appliance manufacturer, is unveiling its latest innovation, Parcel Guard – the smart mailbox – at CES in Las Vegas, Nevada in January. Parcel Guard by Danby is not just another smart mailbox – this product will change the way homeowners receive parcels and mail forever.
"Last year over 25 million households in the United States reported stolen packages," says Jim Estill, CEO of Danby Appliances and the innovator behind Parcel Guard. "I anticipate that in 10 years, all households will have some sort of parcel mailbox simply because of the way our shopping habits are evolving."
15 billion parcels are shipped each year and that number is expected to grow in 2019. Parcel Guard by Danby is built to keep your online deliveries safe until you get home – no more worrying about "Porch Pirates" or missed deliveries. Your delivery driver simply opens Parcel Guard's anti-theft drop slot or scans the package to open the safe and secure bottom door and places your packages inside. Parcel Guard locks, and you're notified through the app that your package is secure. Additional features include wireless connectivity, motion-activated IP camera, tamper alarm and weight monitor.
Danby will be showcasing Parcel Guard at CES (Sands Expo, Halls A-D - 42750) from January 8-11, 2019. Registered attendees and media are invited to visit the booth and speak with a company representative. Jim Estill – CEO of Danby Appliances and the innovator behind Parcel Guard – will also be available for interviews after the show should media have additional questions.
Parcel Guard by Danby will retail for $399 USD and is available for preorder at http://www.danbyparcelguard.com.
