SANTA BARBARA, Calif., April 21, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- ParentSquare, provider of the premier unified school-to-home engagement platform for K-12, today announced their partnership with Learning Explorer to enable sharing of open educational resources through the ParentSquare platform, free of charge for all customers through the end of the 2019/20 school year.
Schools and districts in more than 44 states use ParentSquare to support and interact with families. Educators and administrators manage district alerts, classroom communication, direct messaging, forms, volunteering, attendance and more through a single, unified platform. Powerful metrics and reporting make it easy to track overall engagement levels and measure the success of specific school-to-home interactions.
"In March, we foresaw that our schools would need to leverage our platform in new ways to support learning at home," said Sohit Wadhwa, CEO and co-founder. "It was important that we build a bridge between our K-12 communications platform and educational platforms used for remote learning."
Wadhwa continued, "ParentSquare already features extensive integrations with student information and other critical administrative systems. We're delighted to partner with Learning Explorer going forward and bring their incredible library of educator-curated resources and curriculum tools to our customers, to make this extraordinary time easier for teachers, parents and students."
Teachers will be able to use Learning Explorer straight from their existing ParentSquare account, to collect and share resources directly with students and parents.
Learning Explorer is the award-winning PreK-12 curriculum management platform (originally created by the team at Lesson Planet), containing over 650,000 teacher-reviewed, standards-aligned open educational resources organized by grade level, subject, resource type, accessibility, standards, Lexile, and more.
Learning Explorer integrates seamlessly with the new Resource Hub in ParentSquare. Teachers can find, build, and manage collections of learning resources in the Learning Explorer portal and then seamlessly deliver those collections (or assignments) to parents and students through ParentSquare.
"We are excited about this new partnership with ParentSquare and the opportunity to help schools and districts support their teachers, parents and students during this challenging time of remote learning," said Learning Explorer founder Jim Hurley. "Learning Explorer's integration with ParentSquare means educators can now find, manage and deliver custom collections of learning resources (i.e. lessons, assignments, etc.) to parents and students much easier and faster."
Districts and single-site schools using ParentSquare can request Learning Explorer activation by contacting ParentSquare Customer Success team. ParentSquare customers will be able to continue using Learning Explorer after the end of the 2019/20 school year with a straightforward subscription based on student and teacher populations.
