Paula Ault's Newly Released "Bananas?" is a Funny Children's Story About Two Girls Who Don't like Each Other but Learn to Get Along with a Bit of Creativity
"Bananas?" from Christian Faith Publishing author Paula Ault is a charming story that tells the tale of two little girls--Sarah, who gets annoyed easily, and Prissy, who always wants to be right--who at first don't like each other, but when Sarah comes up with a make-believe game, selling yellow pencils as bananas beside her mother's fruit stand, Prissy's surprising willingness to play along and call them "drawing bananas" opens up an unexpected friendship between the two.
MEADVILLE, Pa., Sept. 04, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- "Bananas?": a funny, heartwarming story about creativity and friendship. "Bananas?" is the creation of published author Paula Ault, a children's writer who continues to create despite her Parkinson's disease; she lives in Boise, Idaho, with her retired husband and their three miniature schnauzers.
Ault shares, "While her mother arranged the boxes of strawberries, Prissy looked at Sarah's basket. 'Those aren't bananas,' said Prissy.
'Yes, they are,' Sarah said. 'Can't you see they're yellow, just like bananas?'
'They're yellow, but they still aren't bananas,' insisted Prissy.
'They are yellow, so they too are bananas,' insisted Sarah. She was getting very annoyed with Prissy.
'You can eat bananas, Sarah, but you can't eat those.'
'I can eat these bananas if I want," said Sarah. She was so annoyed that she chomped down too hard. 'Yuck!' she yelled. "This is the worst banana I've ever tasted.' She made a rather rude spitting noise as she wiped the pencil's taste out of her mouth.
Prissy giggled and said, 'I bet these bananas are for drawing, not for eating.'
Sarah was surprised when Prissy called the pencils bananas. Maybe she's not so bad after all. Maybe we could both be right today, thought Sarah."
Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Paula Ault's new book is a lighthearted, feel-good reminder of the playful silliness and petty rivalries of childhood, inspired by the author's own experiences as a little girl.
With captivatingly childlike pencil illustrations, the story of Sarah and Prissy is sure to touch hearts everywhere and inspire a few giggles.
