The Althea Johnson Agency Announces Charity Event to Establish Memorial Foundation for Local 5-Year-Old Lost to Brain Cancer

The Althea Johnson Agency, a family managed firm providing financial consultations and insurance management assistance to communities in and around Nassau County, New York, is launching a charity drive to raise funds and support for the establishment of a memorial foundation honoring Scott Loeb, a young 5-year-old boy who succumbed to brain cancer in 2005.

Remembered for his contagious smile, Scott was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma shortly before he passed away. Scott’s parents, Larry and Debbie, are working to establish the Smiles For Scott Foundation, Inc. in the hopes of providing assistance with medical equipment during the long and difficult treatment process many children with cancer must endure.

“The Smiles For Scott Foundation will assist many families in our area who are facing the reality of a child with cancer, and we’re calling on all of our friends in the community to come join us and show their support,” says Althea Johnson, owner and principal agent of the Althea Johnson Agency.

Johnson and her professional team are working with other community supporters to raise awareness and generate donations for the Smiles For Scott charity initiative by reaching out to the local community over email and social media channels. Since last April, Johnson and her team have worked closely with a half a dozen charitable groups operating all across Long Island to help generate publicity and donations. As members of a national charity assistance initiative called “Agents of Change,” the Johnson Agency team plans to continue selecting and working with a new regional charity every three months.
