Alexandria, Va. (PRWEB) May 28, 2014 -- On May 19, Retired Chief Warrant Officer Robert Scott, member of the board of directors with PenFed (Pentagon Federal Credit Union), was chosen as Volunteer of the Year by the National Association of Federal Credit Unions (NAFCU). Scott and other winners in NAFCU’s 2014 Annual Awards Competition will be honored in conjunction with NAFCU’s 47th Annual Conference and Solutions Expo in Las Vegas, July 22-26.
“Scott has been a loyal and valuable asset to PenFed’s board of directors and the credit union movement for over 28 years. He’s provided exemplary governance oversight and ardent dedication that is a constant inspiration to his colleagues,” said James Schenck, president and CEO of PenFed. “This award is a deserved testament to his outstanding services on behalf of PenFed’s membership and the credit union industry.”
This year’s competition honored the CEO of the Year, Federal Credit Union of the Year, Professional of the Year, and Volunteer of the Year in each of two asset-size categories: $250 million or less, and more than $250 million. Scott was a winner among credit unions with more than $250 million in assets.
Annual Awards Competition winners will be celebrated during the conference’s general session and breakfast July 25, and profiled in an upcoming issue of The Federal Credit Union magazine.
The National Association of Federal Credit Unions is the only national organization that focuses exclusively on federal issues affecting credit unions, representing its members before the federal government and the public.
