Attorney Gary Lesser Hosts Fundraiser For Parents Television Council As Newly Appointed National Board Member With State Attorney Dave Aronberg
(PRWEB) February 05, 2015 -- “On behalf of the Parents Television Council’s 1.3 million members, it is truly an honor to have Gary Lesser joining the PTC leadership team. As a father, Gary understands first-hand the impact – both positive and negative – that the entertainment media can have on children. I look forward to working closely with Gary to serve families throughout Florida and across our nation. I was excited to join Gary in person at Seasons 52 on the evening of Tuesday, January 20th, so that we could introduce the research, education, and advocacy work of the PTC to concerned citizens in the greater West Palm Beach area,” said Tim Winter, President, Parents Television Council.
State Attorney Dave Aronberg attended in support of the event and spoke about how important the work that PTC does. “Many ‘standard’ cable television networks will run programs with graphic sex and violence with little or no concern about the hours of broadcast or if children could be watching,” said Gary Lesser. “The PTC lets the public know about the content of these programs and works with the networks, companies, and advertisers to make sure our children are not exposed to graphic, inappropriate content, especially earlier in the evening. I am proud to be part of the team that is helping on these issues.”
Gary S. Lesser was unanimously voted onto the board of Parents Television Council in August of 2014. “We are proud to welcome Gary Lesser to the Parents Television Council’s Board of Directors. Our Board, and indeed the entire organization, will benefit greatly by his wisdom, experience, energy, enthusiasm and unwavering commitment to philanthropic causes that serve children and families,” said Michele D’Amour, Board Chair, Parents Television Council.
Founded in 1995, the Parents Television Council® (http://www.parentstv.org ®) is a non-partisan education organization advocating responsible entertainment. As the mission states, the PTC strives to protect children and families from graphic sex, violence, and profanity in the media because of their proven long-term harmful effects.
