Mood Wood Now Offering Handcrafted Wooden Human and Pet Cremation Urns Online at Moodwood.com.
Franksville, WI (PRWEB) July 16, 2013 -- Mood Wood, manufacturer of the highest quality, hand crafted, wooden cremation urns for family members and loved ones for more than 25 years, is now offering ultra-high quality, elegant, handcrafted pet cremation urns. Mood Wood offers six models of the highest quality cherry wood cremation urns for pets, all handcrafted with the same dedication to excellence that has gone into their traditional creation urns for more than a quarter of a century.
Mood Wood recognizes that there is nothing more precious and rewarding than the bond of companionship developed over a long period of time than that between people and their cherished pets. Thus, when a pet that is looked upon as a member of the family passes away, the death can be as devastating to its owners as the loss of family member. Recognizing this bond, family-owned Mood Wood felt a calling several years ago to extend the dedication they focus on wooden urns for the remains of humans to a line of cherry wood pet cremation urns as well. Mood Wood’s goal is for every pet cremation urn to be a piece of work, a family heirloom that can proudly be displayed in any room of the house to honor the memory of a beloved pet.
Just as with its full line of human cremation urns, Mood Wood’s pet urns are constructed of the finest, select grade cherry (no veneer) that is carefully chosen and matched for complementing wood grain and color. All of Mood Wood’s handmade pet cremation urns are constructed with dovetailed joinery and are coated with a hand rubbed finish. A special touch of elegance is added to each cremation urn for pets through each piece of the hand cast fine pewter that adorns each wooden pet cremation urn. Each pewter casting is made exclusively by Mood Wood, designed by Mood Wood’s own craftsmen. Mood Wood sculpts the first pieces in clay, and then builds a master mold that is used to produce the first metal parts. This is followed with the making of a production mold. The custom-made pewter is produced and the flashing must be trimmed, with each piece filed by hand. After the metal has been oxidized, the next step is to tumble the parts in a medium of crushed walnut shells. The final step is hand applying a clear satin finish to each casting that prevents tarnishing of any of the decorative metal that enhances the pet cremation urns.
The handcrafted pet urns offer the same unique closure systems as Mood Wood’s human urns. Unlike other wooden urns on the market, Mood Wood’s handcrafted cremation urns feature a unique locking mechanism known as a Spanish windlass, a system that has been utilized for centuries and is able to apply thousands of pounds of force for an impenetrable seal.
“For over 25 years the craftsmen at Mood Wood have been creating one-of-a-kind wood products, so pet owners, pet breeders, and all animal lovers can now also be confident in our expertise and the quality of their purchase,” notes Bruce Kiefer, owner of Mood Wood. “Every detail of each handcrafted pet urn is designed and constructed by experienced craftsmen, all of the way down to the metal furnishings.”
Mood Wood is a family-owned business that meticulously handcrafts its wooden cremation urns in the countryside of southeast Wisconsin. Bruce and Lucinda Kiefer started designing and handcrafting high quality solid wood office furniture in 1984 and later found a calling to create cherry wood cremation urns, which have been described as heirloom quality, handcrafted with integrity and a commitment to producing the finest wood urns.
Keifer proudly points out that Mood Wood reflects the pride that early American craftsmen had in their work. “Today, many cremation urns are cheap things made only to sell,” he notes. “…mass produced in foreign countries, delivered by the container load. We at Mood Wood prefer the business model of days gone by–using the skills acquired through a lifetime of diligent work, and the highest quality materials, to produce handcrafted solid wood urns. Our goal is to create a cremation urn in an artistry that reflects your most treasured memories. Our goal is that the completed cremation urn be a work of art.”
