Pharmacy Benefits Academy Expands Nationwide to Three Destinations
(PRWEB) March 19, 2014 -- In 2014, the Pharmacy Benefits Academy (PBA) will be held in Portland, OR (May 12-13), Alexandria, VA (June 24-25) and Schaumburg, IL (August 4-6).
PBA is a highly focused, in-depth educational conference with attendance at each conference by Human Resource and Health Benefits professionals, as well as healthcare providers. PBA will expand from a once-a-year conference in Chicago to three separate conferences throughout the country, providing the opportunity for professionals nationwide to attend with minimal time and travel expenses.
PBA is produced by Pharmacy Outcomes Specialists, in collaboration with three key co-producers for and in each region. These co-producers represent critical market segments of the industry. Each PBA will focus on issues related to the work and specializations of the organizations and health benefit interests in the corresponding territory.
“We’re proud of the interest shown in the Pharmacy Benefits Academy throughout the country and glad that we’re able to provide human resource and health benefits experts an opportunity to attend regardless of where they live,” said Susan Hayes, Principal of Pharmacy Outcomes Specialists.
“We understand that there are different issues and concentrations in each region and being able to provide tailored programs for each PBA allows the conference to succeed for the attendees,” added Hayes.
Each PBA focus:
- PBA West will be co-produced by the Oregon Coalition of Health Care Purchasers (OCHCP) and POS will focus on employer’s successful innovations in pharmacy benefit management.
- PBA East will be co-produced by the National Community Pharmacists Associate (NCPA) and POS will concentrate on the role of community pharmacies.
- PBA Central will be co-produced by Roosevelt University, College of Pharmacy (RUCOP) and POS. Renamed Pharmacy Benefits University, this conference will focus on a variety of pharmaceutical topics, such as Medication Therapy Management, biosimilars, value-based benefit design, bioethics, specialty drugs and retiree drug benefits.
