Pieter Andries Attends 2015 AGTA GemFair in Tucson
(PRWEB) March 09, 2015 -- Pieter Andries, certified gemologist and founder of Pieter Andries Creators of Fine Jewelry in Southlake, attended the American Gem Trade Association’s (AGTA) 2015 GemFair held February 5-8 in Tucson, Arizona. GemFair Tucson is home to the largest selection of colored gemstones and cultured pearls in North America.
Andries has attended GemFair Tucson for the past 29 years. This year, Andries acquired a 1500 carat ruby carved into the shape of an owl. The base is made from quartz with tourmaline needles. He also purchased a cockatoo carved from one solid piece of quartz. The pieces are made in Brazil by the famous sculptor Peter Muller and will be showcased in Andries’ private collection. A rotating display of these carvings is available for public viewing at the jeweler’s Southlake showroom.
GemFair Tucson brings together gemstone aficionados from around the world who have the opportunity of getting the first look at hot gemstones and the newest production of the classics. With 8,600 qualified buyers, 5,200 buyer companies, and more than 300 exhibitors, the event provides an opportunity to network with US and Canada based professionals along with many others. In addition, GemFair Tucson is a rare opportunity to hear from industry experts, discuss emerging trends, learn the latest information and techniques.
“The AGTA show is an opportunity for me to find one-of-a kind gemstones to use in new masterpieces created for my loyal friends and fans,” says Andries, “I look forward to sharing the new additions to my collection with them. “
