Pioneer Millworks Ranked for Second Time as Top 100 Company

Pioneer Millworks was recognized by the Rochester Business Alliance and KPMG LLP as one of Rochester’s Top 100 - the region’s fastest growing privately held companies - for the second consecutive year.

This week, Pioneer Millworks was recognized by the Rochester Business Alliance and KPMG LLP as one of the region’s fastest growing privately held companies. Ranked as #32 on the list, the organization has leapt from last year’s first ever ranking of #55. The Rochester Business Alliance and KPMG LLP ranks business based upon both dollar and percentage revenue growth.

Our people are the reason we made the list two years in a row,” comments Jennifer Young, General Manager of Pioneer Millworks.

Pioneer Millworks was ranked #55 on the Top 100 in 2014. After a strong year with continued revenue and personnel growth, the company moved up to #32 for 2015. They continue in their mission to offer the best reclaimed wood products in the nation, salvaged and manufactured in a way that’s healthy for their employees and the planet. LEED point eligible and chain of custody certified, their products continue to gain popularity in the retail, hospitality, and residential markets creating growth recognized by the Rochester Top 100.

To be eligible for the Rochester Top 100, businesses must be independent, privately held, headquartered in the nine-county Rochester region, and have revenue of at least $1 million in each of the three most recent fiscal years. The program recognizes Rochester’s reputation as a region of innovation spurred by a strong entrepreneurial spirit. The 2015 Rochester Top 100 companies combined for over $12.6 billion in revenue and employed nearly 100,000 people in the last fiscal year.

Robert Duffy, president and CEO of Rochester Business Alliance stated, “The Rochester Top 100 Program helps us pay tribute to companies that play an important role in our local economy.” This year, both total revenue and employment grew. Pioneer Millworks contributed to the trend by hiring an additional 7 local employees in the past year.

The Rochester Business Alliance is the chamber of commerce for the nine-county Rochester region, which includes Monroe, Genesee, Livingston, Ontario, Orleans, Seneca, Wayne, Wyoming, and Yates counties. As an organization, the RBA provides connections to the people, information, and expertise businesses need to grow. This is often done through advocacy, human resource services, and networking opportunities.

Pioneer Millworks is the leader in the reclaimed wood industry. To date, they’ve rescued nearly 25 million board feet of old wood from rot and landfills, giving it new life as flooring, paneling, millwork, cabinetry, and more. All wood is manufactured in a way that’s healthy for customers, employees, and the environment. Pioneer Millworks is FSC-certified and Green America approved. All of their products are LEED point eligible.
