WASHINGTON, Feb. 11, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- In recognition of the National Court Reporters Association's Court Reporting & Captioning Week, February 9-16, Planet Institute, a division of Planet Depos, is pleased to announce it will once again offer three scholarship opportunities to qualified students and recent graduates of the nation's court reporting schools. Those who qualify to apply for one of three $1,000 scholarships are, specifically, students near completion of the program or who completed a court reporting program within the past three months.
"With the success of last year's scholarship program, with nearly 50 submissions, Planet Depos is pleased to once again offer three scholarships to deserving court reporting students. We're hoping to receive even more this year," said Kathy DiLorenzo, Director of Court Reporting. "Completion of a court reporting program is an accomplishment worth acknowledging, and we are proud to give recognition to three outstanding students."
Planet Institute was launched three years ago during the 2016 Court Reporting & Captioning Week. The mission of the program is to assist court reporting students in the transition from graduation to a practicing deposition court reporter. Planet Institute provides the vocational support to bridge the gap for court reporting students and recent graduates with one-on-one mentoring and professional development for motivated applicants. Applicants to the program must undergo an interview, pass a writing evaluation, as well as a vocabulary and grammar test. There is no fee for taking part in the Planet Institute mentoring and internship program.
Scholarship applicants are required to provide responses to three profession-related questions. Deadline for applying is Friday, March 1. The three scholarship winners will be announced on Friday, March 15.
