TAP Subsidiary Transamerican Manufacturing Group Acquires Poison Spyder Customs
Compton, California (PRWEB) February 03, 2015 -- Transamerican Manufacturing Group, subsidiary to parent company Transamerican Auto Parts (TAP), has acquired Poison Spyder Customs. Headquartered in Banning, California, the Poison Spyder product line will be added to the roster of existing TMG brands including Smittybilt, Pro Comp, Rubicon Express and G2 Axle & Gears. Poison Spyder President Larry McRae met Clifton Slay over a decade ago and ended up purchasing the company from him. Since then Poison Spyder has skittered to its spot as an industry leader in manufacturing hardcore exterior parts and accessories, with a focus on Jeep 4x4 JKs and TJs.
“I really admire what Larry McRae has done in building a predominant brand so quickly,” says Transamerican Auto Parts President/CEO Greg Adler. “Poison Spyder is a great fit with our brands and customer base and we look forward to developing the full potential of what McRae and his team has already worked so diligently upon.”
Plans call for Poison Spyder employees to be welcomed by the Transamerican Manufacturing Group team headquartered in Compton, California. “Transamerican Manufacturing Group provides unlimited opportunities for Poison Spyder to grow within the industry,” says McRae. “Our whole team is eager to learn everything we can and work with them to develop Poison Spyder into what we’ve envisioned since we acquired the company in 2009.”
The company’s products have been domestically produced since its inception and plans are for this practice to continue. “We want to assure all loyal customers that this will continue to be common practice,” says Transamerican Manufacturing Group President Sean Angues. “Production within the USA is critical for the positive development of the brand as well as ensuring high-quality products that Poison Spyder customers rightly expect.”
The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
