We knew that people wanted arrest and conviction information, but now we've learned that they are also interested in parole status, so it makes sense to include that as well.

Police.us.org has enhanced their public criminal record reports to include parole status, the company said yesterday.
“We want to give our customers as much information as possible when they do a background check with us,” a Police.us.org spokesman said. “We knew that people wanted arrest and conviction information, but now we've learned that they are also interested in parole status, so it makes sense to include that as well.”
Many of the customers who contact Police.us.org looking for parole status are companies doing background checks on potential employees, he said.
“Some companies believe in giving people a second chance after they have done time in jail,” the Police.us.org spokesman said. “But they want to do so for people who are making a real effort to get their lives on track. Knowing if someone on parole is living up to their court-ordered obligations is a great way to measure that.”
Parole status is also a good way for neighborhood watch programs to know if a new neighbor is someone they should welcome into their community, the Police.us.org spokesman said.
“If someone was in jail for drug problems but is now no longer an addict, that is a better neighbor than one who is unable to pass drug monitoring with the parole department,” he said. “It gives people a better overall picture of who they are dealing with.”
