Silicon Valley Startup Kicks Off Pilot To Launch Decaffeinated 100% Kona Coffee Pods In New 97% Sustainable Eco-Friendly Single Serve Packaging
Silicon Valley, CA (PRWEB) October 31, 2014 -- Pooki’s Mahi announced today it will soon ship 100% Kona coffee pods in fully recyclable single serve cups. The cup design allows customers to see and smell their roast before brewing.

Pooki’s Mahi’s second pilot will test the entire eco-system for the 100% Kona coffee pods product line for a few specific channels. What makes Pooki’s Mahi’s pilots unique is that the high tech (manufacturing) methodology is used for a low-tech product (food & beverage). Customers also requested a more sustainable cup and ability to smell the roast before brewing the 100% Kona coffees.”
Pooki’s Mahi’s 100% Kona Coffee Single Serves are made from 100% Kona coffee beans grown on a family owned and operated farm established in 1997. Pooki’s Mahi collaborated with key coffee partners to select the beans from their (coffee partners) farms and roast them to perfection at their headquarters in Oahu. Pooki’s Mahi’s decaffeinated 100% Kona coffee pods manufacturer will produce the cups made from 100% polypropylene; recyclable along with other #5 plastics. A mesh filter allows customers to see and smell their favorite roast before brewing. Up to 14 grams can be accommodated in the cup design. Each single serve cup is individually wrapped in a barrier material to retain freshness.
Pooki’s Mahi’s 100% Kona coffee, Decaf will initially have 12 individually wrapped units in a standup pouch. A small number in the standup pouch will be used for the second pilot. Ultimately the 12 individually wrapped units will be packaged so it is protected from shipping tolerances.
