SAN DIEGO, Oct. 30, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Portfolium, the leading Student Success Network, announced today that they're extending their partnership with the California State University (CSU) system for an additional three years, keeping Portfolium as the provider of its ePortfolio network to CSU's 484K students and 3.6M alumni from all 23 CSU campuses.
Since the 2015 initial launch, 200,000 students have created profiles and added 1,500,000 verified skills, with 17 campuses having successfully implemented Portfolium. CSU will continue to use the platform to support their commitment to system-wide student success initiatives across their campuses.
"Portfolium helps our students and alumni connect skill and competency development to career outcomes," said Lori A. Redfearn, Assistant Vice Chancellor of Statewide Advancement for CSU, "With millions of posted artifacts, it is a powerful visual expression of the quality of California State University graduates."

"It has been an honor partnering with Lori Redfearn and the CSU System Office of the Chancellor as they lead innovative Student Success initiatives across California. The past three years of success with ePortfolios across 17 campuses will only continue to improve as millions of CSU students enter the workforce in the years to come," said Adam Markowitz, CEO and founder of Portfolium. "The CSU students gain a competitive advantage being prepared with evidence-backed skills acquired inside and outside of the classroom, displayed in their free lifelong ePortfolios; the only ePortfolio searchable by employers."
As part of the renewal, Portfolium will continue to provide students with lifelong access to ePortfolios to showcase curricular and co-curricular learning artifacts that can be used to reflect on workforce relevant skills as defined by the National Association of Colleges & Employers (NACE).
These skill-tagged artifacts can be leveraged by students to land internship and employment opportunities through Portfolium's TalentMatch platform, including high-level CSU Entertainment Alliance employment partners like Oracle, Disney, Sony, and more.
"CSU students and alumni are the most diverse talent pool in California. They are ready to join technology and entertainment companies to add value and unique perspectives to their workforce. Portfolium helps showcase their skills in a visually compelling format." - Dr. Dina Ibrahim, CSUEA Executive Director
A future to unlock together
Along with the ePortfolio platform, numerous CSU campuses have already begun taking the steps in expanding the platform with Portfolium's Assessment and Digital Badging solutions, such as CSU Long Beach's Department of Journalism & PR.
With Portfolium Assessment, the department of Journalism's staff and faculty have been given the ability to create customizable rubrics with multiple learning outcomes, curriculum mapping and one-click reporting, all which are made available in an intuitive and user-centered assessment platform.
"All of our assessment functions are currently centralized on the platform," said Gwen Shaffer, Assessment Chair of Journalism & PR at CSU Long Beach, "This streamlines the assessment process for faculty and enables the department to easily collect data."
Portfolium Assessment seamlessly integrates with all major campus learning management systems (LMS), such as CSU Long Beach's Desire2Learn, Blackboard Learn, and Canvas by Instructure.
Along with current CSU students and alumni, the Portfolium and CSU partnership will also benefit current California Community College (CCC) students seeking to transfer to the CSU system. With an emphasis on portability and lifelong access, CCC students will be able to take their curricular and co-curricular learning artifacts and create pathways through a transfer into a CSU institution and beyond as they graduate.
A partnership rooted in its commitment to student success
Portfolium began its partnership with the CSU system in 2015, paving a new way for CSU students to retain data from hundreds of class assignments, internships, projects, and extracurricular work samples often lost in the academic shuffle.
"The CSU is excited about its partnership with Portfolium, which represents another tool to help our students be successful while attending the university, as well as help them find jobs after they graduate," said Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs Loren Blanchard. "We also see this as another way to increase the opportunities for networking among our alumni."
Portfolium's relationship with the CSU system has been rooted in successful campus launches at CSU Fullerton, CSU Long Beach, CSU San Marcos, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, San Diego State University, Cal State Northridge, CSU East Bay, Cal State LA, CSU Bakersfield, Cal Poly Pomona, Sacramento State, CSU Channel Islands, Cal State San Bernardino, and San Jose State University among others.
