SAN DIEGO, Nov. 20, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Portfolium, the leading Student Success platform, announced today that they're expanding their partnership with the University System of Georgia (USG) for an additional year, keeping Portfolium as the 2019 sole source provider of ePortfolios for USG's 325,000+ students and millions of alumni across their 28 campuses.
As part of the extension, Portfolium's ePortfolio technology will continue to provide USG students with lifelong access to ePortfolios. Students are able to showcase and reflect on their curricular and co-curricular learning experiences that can be leveraged by students to land internship and employment opportunities through Portfolium's TalentMatch feature.
Portfolium's scalability allows the platform to be used to support unique student success initiatives across a wide-range of USG institutions, including public universities, technology centers, and community colleges. As students progress through the university system--whether as community college students, university students, or alumni--Portfolium's portability and lifelong accessibility will act as their unified learning profile.
Student Success applied in real-time:
Since the 2016 launch, several USG institutions have expanded on Portfolium's Student Success platform with campus-specific partnerships, including Georgia State University (GSU). Under the leadership of Dr. Timothy M. Renick, Senior Vice President for Student Success and Professor, the institution began using Portfolium to support their four-year student success initiative of helping students from all backgrounds stay on track for graduation, including low-income and first generation university students.
With Portfolium's support, GSU ensures that tens of thousands of low-income and first-generation university students don't just "look good on paper," but can develop and demonstrate their professional skills to potential employers over their entire college tenure, from their First-Year Experience courses to their capstone project.
"The goal is to get our students to be much more intentional about understanding the connection between what they're doing in their coursework and extra-curricular activities and the connection to the kind of skills and competencies that will be important in the job market," said Dr. Renick.
On the reception Portfolium has received at GSU since implementing, Dr. Renick continued, "This has been received with a great deal of enthusiasm by the students. In the first twelve months that we had these ePortfolios available to all Georgia State graduates, we [received] over 700,000 artifacts posted."
Along with ePortfolios, the Portfolium's Student Success Network boasts various student solutions, including assessment, digital badging, guided pathways, and employment network technology.
With Portfolium Assessment, USG's staff and faculty can benefit from the ability to create customizable rubrics tied to multiple learning outcomes or standards, curriculum mapping and easy-one click reporting, all which are made available in an intuitive assessment platform with built-in integration to USG's current learning management system, Desire2Learn.
"Portfolium's relationship with USG has been one created and fueled from a tenacious mutual passion for student success and innovation," said Troy Markowitz, Vice President of Academic Partnerships at Portfolium, "With the progress we continue to see every day from campus to campus, we couldn't be more proud to call the University System of Georgia a partner."
