Everyday web searching is now action for equality and social justice

Power Search for Chrome, the popular web search browser extension, announced today that it will donate 100 percent of its June 2020 revenue and 10 percent of ongoing revenue to causes associated with the Black Lives Matter social justice movement.

“All lives matter only when black lives matter,” said Steve Markowitz, chairman of Power Search’s parent company BeeStripe LLC. “Our diverse team values equality and social justice. Inaction is complicity, so we’re committing resources urgently to BLM causes.”

The Power Search BLM Initiative is an opportunity for individuals who want to contribute to worthy social justice and racial equality causes, but may not have the financial means to do so in a COVID-19 environment. By taking a simple online action to activate Power Search, they are raising much-needed revenue for organizations such as Black Lives Matter Global Network, Color of Change Education Fund, Equal Justice Initiative and the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund.

Power Search is a Yahoo-optimized default search extension that offers web, image, video and shopping results. The Power Search extension has a five-star rating in the Chrome Web Store. Search engines generate revenue from the advertising displayed on the search results page. Power Search is available for Chrome and Chromium-based browsers on the Windows and macOS platforms.
