Local Tea Company Fuels Boulder’s Startup Community by Keeping Innovators Caffeinated With Premium Teas as Part of Their “Thirst for Life!”
Boulder, CO (PRWEB) August 29, 2014 -- Loose leaf tea company, The Tea Spot, helps keep the internal engines running for some of the most innovative minds in Boulder, Colorado with premium tea offerings at three startup hot spots. As part of their “Thirst for Life!” mission, The Tea Spot hopes to inspire people to live healthy lives with passion and purpose. It’s through partnerships like these that they are realizing this goal.
Coined the “Silicon Flatirons,” Boulder is known for having the highest density of tech startups per capita on the planet, as well as its iconic geographical landmarks. Over the past few years, numerous co-working offices have sprouted up around the city to fulfill the increased demand for office space targeting small teams and freelancers. Co-working offices offer an affordable way to rent office space and to be surrounded by other creative individuals and companies, which often sparks collaborations. These spaces also often host events, lectures, and product launch parties open to the larger community, further strengthening their collaborative spirit. There is also a growing trend of loose leaf tea drinking among tech savvy crowds. These always-on folks are often searching for healthy ways to obtain sustained energy, rather than settling for the peaks and valleys of the coffee buzz.
The Tea Spot is no stranger to the local tech community. Led by mechanical engineer, Maria Uspenski, The Tea Spot has always valued innovation and creative problem solving, as seen by their numerous patented Steepware® designs. It was a natural fit to partner with these co-working spaces, so The Tea Spot reached out to Scrib and Impact Hub Boulder to offer what they do best—premium tea & teaware. The Tea Spot has been supplying loose leaf teas to these co-working spaces since 2012. As part of their memberships, co-working participants are given a number of complimentary community kitchen supplies, including an array of loose leaf teas by The Tea Spot. Some of the favorites among this crowd include high-energy teas like Bolder Breakfast, Yerba Mate, and Sencha, as well as caffeine-free varieties like Rooibos and Red Rocks.
Participants of Boomtown Boulder, a startup incubator, were also given access to an unlimited supply of The Tea Spot’s loose teas as part of the program’s daily perks. This unique program mentors ten startups at a time, selected from a highly-competitive application process to participate in a 12-week accelerator. These teams each receive $20,000 and are mentored by seasoned investors, engineers, designers, and marketers to take their startup to the next level. The Tea Spot supports the teams with complimentary high-quality tea throughout their days and often-late nights. During the inaugural Boomtown accelerator, Sean Kelly, CEO of Wuf, commented on the tea selection, "Tea Spot has great blend of tastes and caffeine levels. I can drink a different one twice a day, every day, and never get tired of it." The next round of participants are currently being selected to begin the 12-week intensive in September and The Tea Spot is eager to help support this new group of innovators.
Whether it’s a healthy energy kick to get going in the morning or a small escape from the stresses of the day, The Tea Spot seeks to offer a handcrafted tea that’s perfect for every moment. They also hope to inspire people to live healthy lives with passion and purpose in what they call their “Thirst for Life!” It’s through collaborations with innovative startups like these that they are realizing this goal.
