Properly conducting a Risk Analysis has been a real challenge for most organizations, Chaput said. Those who have not appropriately responded to requirements in this area are placing their businesses at significant risk.

Clearwater Compliance CEO and Founder Bob Chaput will join a distinguished lineup of healthcare information privacy and security experts as a featured speaker at the 2nd Annual Privacy & Security Forum, September 23-24 in Boston, Mass.

Chaput’s session will focus on “How to Conduct a Bona Fide HIPAA Risk Analysis,” drawing from Clearwater’s deep experience as a leading provider of solutions to help organizations become and remain HIPAA-HITECH compliant.

Chaput will discuss the foundational elements for performing an effective risk analysis, including details on the fundamentals of risk, HIPAA regulatory requirements, HHS/OCR guidance and which activities comprise a bona fide security risk analysis.

“Properly conducting a Risk Analysis has been a real challenge for most organizations, Chaput said. “Those who have not appropriately responded to requirements in this area are placing their businesses at significant risk. We aim to help conference attendees better understand what is required, before it’s too late.”

The Privacy & Security Forum will coincide with the Office for Civil Rights enforcement date of the HIPAA Omnibus Final Rule, creating a timely learning opportunity for attendees. The forum will provide information and real-world solutions for healthcare executives interested in creating comprehensive policies and an organizational mindset designed to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing and complex privacy and security landscape.

Presenters from across the industry – from government officials and policy experts to CIOs and chief security officers – will provide attendees with feet-on-the-ground lessons about developing security programs; responding to security breaches; securing and developing policies involving mobile devices; and developing compliance programs in response to new government regulations, among others.

The Privacy & Security Forum is a joint effort between HIMSS Media and Healthcare IT News. More information on the event is available at http://healthprivacyforum.com/agenda

“We’re honored to be presenting alongside some of the brightest minds in healthcare,” Chaput said. “This event will be a powerful experience for attendees, just in time to help them get ready for new requirements in privacy and security.”
