Students of Lincoln University Organize Annual University Olympics
Oakland, CA (PRWEB) November 11, 2014 -- Lincoln University celebrated its annual Sports Day with an Olympic-style competition in various individual and team sports on Sept. 14. The annual event, held this year at the facilities of Encinal High School in Alameda, has become a beloved tradition fostering family spirit and friendly communication between the faculty, staff and students of Lincoln University.
More than 40 students competed for valuable prizes in a diverse set of sport disciplines, including athletics, football, basketball and tennis. A friendly game of soccer became the event of the day, bringing together students, faculty and staff in a nail-biting mix of action and strategy.
According to a faculty member, “It is very valuable for students to have a chance to see their instructors outside of the classroom, to interact with them in a daily life, to build a lasting sense of trust and respect.”
The decision of students and faculty to establish a permanent Lincoln University soccer team can serve as a proof that this important goal has been successfully accomplished.
