San Francisco Bay Area graphic design firm Project6 Design has earned three honors from the 2013 Davey Awards—including a Gold Award for the Biscoff website. The Nok Nok Labs and Leisure Sports websites both received Silver Awards.

The Davey Awards is an international creative award focused exclusively on honoring outstanding creative work from the best small firms worldwide. The 2013 Davey Awards received nearly 4,000 entries from ad agencies, interactive agencies, production firms, in-house creative professionals, graphic designers, design firms and public relations firms.

The Davey Awards honors the achievement of ideas, intelligence and out-of-the-box thinking. Great work is about fresh ideas and exceptional execution, not the biggest budgets. The Davey levels the playing field so entrants compete with only their peers and can win the recognition they deserve. Project6 Design has a proven record as one of the best web design companies in the San Francisco Bay Area, with 17 awards won in 2013 alone.

Biscoff won the Gold 2013 Davey Award in the Food & Beverage Website category. Biscoff cookies have been made in Europe using the same high quality recipe since 1932—and now Americans are beginning to discover this delicious, crunchy treat. The robust architecture of the new website enables visitors to explore product offerings, link to product purchase more intuitively, and search and filter rich content like recipes and party ideas. In addition, Biscoff’s enthusiastic fans can pinpoint the place they discovered Biscoff on an interactive map and share tips on where and when to enjoy the cookie. Sumptuous photography conveys the Biscoff story, and supporting feature areas make it easy for Biscoff to highlight their product and seasonal interests as needed.

Nok Nok Labs earned the Silver 2013 Davey Award in the Professional Services Website category. Nok Nok Labs is a B2B security startup in Palo Alto that was looking to come out of stealth mode. Targeting a conference as their grand unveiling, they had just a few months to create their website and establish their presence. Project6 Design created a simple information architecture to enable site visitors to learn about their revolutionary vision quickly. GoTo Webinar, Jobvite, YouTube Video Channel, and the Marketo CRM were integrated into the website as part of Nok Nok Labs’ drive to attract top talent and captures leads.

Their second Silver 2013 Davey Award was in the Health Websites category. Leisure Sports, an active lifestyle business, designs, develops, owns and manages distinctive, high-end fitness resorts and hotels that offer world-class service, contemporary facilities, and innovative sports and fitness programs. Project6 Design refined the Leisure Sports sites’ outdated navigation and branding, developed multiple types of content editors, updated an outdated and complex custom fitness-scheduling tool, added internal promotions, and more. The result is a single Drupal-driven website that serves all seven location websites and allows easy access to multiple editors to quickly make changes.

All three websites were designed and built using the latest award-winning Responsive Web Design (RWD) methodologies—so images are scaled and navigation is intuitive on all devices, from large desktop monitors to the smallest phones. Additionally, all three sites were also built using Drupal as the content management system (CMS), a core competency of Project6 Design's development team. Drupal is an open source content management platform powering millions of websites and applications, and is built, used, and supported by an active and diverse community of people around the world. It is a cutting-edge platform that supports the latest technologies that the Web has to offer, and is used by some of the biggest sites on the Web, like The Economist, and The White House. The Drupal project's principles encourage modularity, standards, collaboration, ease-of-use, and more.

"Project6 is honored to win Gold and two Silver awards in this international competition. It's really satisfying to be recognized for our work.
